My Life Inventory: Starting With Health and Finances
Let me kick this thing off by saying that I did not get this idea from AI. It is 100% made up by me.
AI just helps me organize my blog after I write the whole thing completely out of order because squirrels keep deciding to jump between the trees in these woods. IYKYK.
What Is a Life Inventory?
I have to look at my life as if I am inspecting it, and boy, is it overwhelming.
I have noticed that when I become overwhelmed, I want to take all that overwhelm, shove it into a closet, close the door, and hope that when I reopen it, everything has magically disappeared.
However, I cannot do that, so I have to make a list.
But how do you make a list out of 30 years of chaos?
Well, it starts with priorities.
If you have not read my last blog, do that before proceeding, or you may find yourself a little lost.
My Life Inventory requires me to know my priorities first and then break those priorities down across every area of my life.
The list includes both the physical and emotional overwhelm that I call chaos. From there, I determine whether each part is productive, what purpose it serves, and whether it supports my priorities.
If it is not well-supported by Priority 1, it gets eliminated.

Getting Started
Getting started has to be the hardest part.
I keep looking at the physical chaos around me instead of stepping back and looking at the bigger picture of my entire life.
I want to refocus my attention on where it needs to be and remove the things that are pulling me away from my priorities.
Some people might even say that my personal brand should be one of those things.
However, I am using it to document this journey instead of keeping another notebook or journal somewhere around my house. Plus, I think, or at least hope, that some of the things I talk about will help someone else who struggles with the same things I do find a little clarity.
I am learning how to love myself.
I am very much a people pleaser, and I tend to put everyone else first. However, to work through my Life Inventory, I have to focus on ME.
Starting With My Health
I got rid of The 4F Club, so next up should be my kitchen.
My physical health is not the greatest. I still eat like a teenager, and I am entering an age when my body is begging for the nutrients it needs to survive the remainder of my life and make up for everything it missed during years of improper nutrition, lol.
I am going to the doctor, getting blood work done, and then approaching the whole vitamin research thing with better information.
I have already started taking small breaks and walking while I am at work. I am standing instead of sitting when I can. I could even begin parking farther away from entrances.
I still need to find time to really get my heart rate up and complete an actual workout. However, I am battling narcolepsy on that one, so baby steps.
What I can do right now is begin making better choices.
I can choose water instead of soda or sweet tea. Except when I am eating because I do not like drinking water with food. We are working on progress here, not perfection.
I also need to remove the unhealthy foods from my kitchen or put them in a tote so the kids and hubby can munch on them without leaving everything in plain sight to tempt me.

Tackling Grocery Shopping
Grocery shopping is the next thing I need to tackle.
The cost of healthy food is so much higher than the cheap stuff, and the dollar store does not sell fresh vegetables.
However, I did start a garden to help with this.
Even though the garden was a bit of an impulse decision, I did not realize how much it would cost upfront to get everything started.
But I have a gardening blog coming soon!

Facing the Financial Chaos
That slides us right into the financial chaos: debt.
Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace is definitely the direction I want to follow, and I will be hitting that hard again.
I will also be selling all the chaotic overwhelm that has piled up in the room upstairs. The goal is to turn that clutter into money and start paying off these debts.
All the excess streaming services, except Angel, will be paused until the debt is paid off.
Hopefully, that will encourage the entire family to participate in the yard sales, too. If everyone wants their streaming services back, everyone can help sell some stuff, haha.
So far, my Life Inventory includes two major areas: health and finances.
I am going to keep working through the rest on my end, but you catch my drift. At least, I hope you do.
Here’s to turning chaos into clarity.
What area would you tackle first in your own Life Inventory: health, finances, relationships, your home, or something else? You do not have to fix everything today. Just identify your starting point.
A Chaos to Clarity Prompt 🔥
Help me create a Life Inventory. My current priorities are [list your priorities]. Ask me questions about my physical environment, emotional well-being, health, finances, relationships, faith, and responsibilities. Help me identify what is productive, what serves a purpose, and what may be distracting me from my priorities. Then help me choose one small area to work on first.
